The Deseret Dagger is a niche publication focused on the unique cosmos of Mormonism, Mormon history, prophecy, revelation, Church culture, politics, and the peculiar people who orbit them.
We publish revelations from God Almighty, that we might obey the commandment to cry repentance and warn our neighbors. The sword of justice hangs over the Mormon people for our failure to help the Lord build Zion, for our failure to adequately minister to the poor of the Lord's people, and for our participation in idolatry, vain ambitions, whoredoms, murders, and "secret abominations".
We also publish news satire. Comedy is the spoonful of sugar that envelops the bitter pill of truth. We employ satire, that the truth may be "sweet in our mouths" before becoming "bitter in our bellies". Soften your heart, let your false paradigms shatter, let the bitterness of truth motivate you to action, let the Spirit of truth take up abode in you, and do whatever the Lord commands you to do.
We strive to use discernment, to avoid straying onto sacrilegious or irreverent paths. We operate from the principle that laughter is a higher law and satire, when wielded in charity, is a legitimate tool of prophetic critique and mutual improvement.

The Deseret Dagger is not affiliated with any Mormon fundamentalist sect, Restoration sect, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, or your uncle who lives in Manti and claims he alone holds the keys.
Any resemblance to real-life General Authorities, priesthood councils, or Facebook prophets on our satire page is purely coincidental… and also kind of the point.
Do not use our news satire as a source for actual news, temple recommend interviews, or plural marriage applications. Do let the revelations of God motivate you to repent, and be born again.
